Aryan Sarparast MD

Dr. Aryan Sarparast (he/him) is an early-career board-certified psychiatrist and expert consultant in psychedelic science. He practices within the Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University, where he also teaches and supervises medical trainees.

He served as a Study Physician on clinical trials, including a MDMA-assisted psychotherapy trial for the treatment of social anxiety disorder, and provides safety oversight for several psilocybin clinical trials.

An area of niche expertise is his knowledge of pharmacology and the practicalities of how psychiatric and psychedelic drugs interact, which is an area he has studied and published on prior. He is trained in both integration and psychodynamic psychotherapy, both of which he believes share the aim of making meaning of and uncovering the treasures hidden within our stories.

He prides himself on his passion for education which he embed deeply into his consultation practice. He also has the honor to serve as an appointed member of the Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board, where he assists in the flourishing of America’s first regulated framework for psilocybin therapy.
